You don’t have to let ageing slow you down – by focusing on the right things and making better choices, you can maintain a good quality of life and reduce the effects of ageing on your body. With Bodymaja’s body composition measurement, you can find out what your body needs and prevent the challenges of ageing.
Making the right choices to improve your well-being
As we age, each of us experiences inevitable changes in our bodies. Muscle strength and muscle mass begin to decline, body imbalances become more pronounced, visceral fat, which is harmful to health, may increase and overall nutritional status may deteriorate.
With Bodymaja’s body composition measurement, you can see exactly what changes are happening in your body and react to them in good time. With a comprehensive and detailed measurement report, you can make the right choices to ensure you stay fit and maintain a good quality of life for as long as possible.
Bodymaja’s body composition measurements are performed with InBody 770 devices based on patented technology, which offer premium quality and scope of measurement, as well as reliable and personalised results. InBody measurement, based on bioimpedance analysis (BIA), reports on an individual’s nutritional status and health status with an accuracy not possible with other methods.

How to use body composition measurement
Body composition measurement by Bodymaja provides a similar, easy-to-read report for each measurement, which goes through the results with a comprehensive explanation. The report includes clear graphs of each value and its evolution, as well as instructions on how to interpret the results, making it easy for you to use the information you get. All reports are saved in your My Body account, where you can also track your health.
As you get older, it is worth paying particular attention to these values:
Total score
The score indicates your InBody score on a scale of 1-100. The score describes the structure and strength of your body. The score is influenced by muscle and fat mass in relation to your target values. The stronger and more balanced your body composition, the higher your score. A normal range is considered to be between 70 and 90.
Body composition
This section of the My Body report tells you exactly what your measured weight consists of. In addition to your total weight, you’ll find out how much muscle and fat mass your body has and how they’re distributed, harmful visceral fat, as well as water, protein and minerals.
Muscle balance
The muscle balance section describes the fat-free mass in five different parts of the body. Fat-free mass consists of muscle, bone, water and other tissues, and its distribution in different parts of the body can be used to help assess muscle balance. Muscle balance means that the different muscle groups are in harmony with each other, both in terms of strength and mobility: differences in muscle balance can affect body function and cause pain or numbness. This analysis can help to identify any imbalances or mismatches between the upper and lower body, helping to optimise exercise programmes and prevent injuries.
Muscle-fat diagnosis
Muscle fat diagnosis is a good measure for monitoring changes in body composition. In addition to weight, you can see the amount of muscle and fat mass in kilograms. You can also see how much the result differs from normal.
Visceral fat
Visceral fat (better known as visceral fat) refers to the amount of fat accumulated around the internal organs. Visceral fat is one of the best lifestyle variables and the most important health outcome to monitor in the report. High visceral fat is associated with diabetes, metabolic syndrome and many other lifestyle diseases. A healthy limit is defined as less than 100cm2.
Waist-to-hip ratio
The waist-to-hip ratio compares the waist circumference to the hip circumference. A high figure is a clear indication of excess fat accumulation around the abdomen. Excess fat is always a health risk, and mid-body obesity in particular increases the risk of a wide range of diseases.
Nutritional status assessment
A nutritional status assessment will tell you whether the levels of protein, minerals or fat in your body indicate malnutrition or whether they are normal. In the case of fat, the amount may also be excessive.
Body phase angle
The phase angle tells you about the health and nutritional status of your cells. A low phase angle is a sign of impaired cell structure, e.g. due to malnutrition or inflammation. This variable is used in particular in hospitals to monitor general health and to verify the effectiveness of nutritional therapy and treatments. The normal phase angle of a healthy person is influenced by several factors, including size, sex and age.
Wide range of blood pressure and compression force*
With Bodymaja’s body composition measurement, you also have the option of a comprehensive blood pressure and compression force measurement. Blood pressure measurement is an important preventive health measure to help assess your cardiovascular health. In addition to blood pressure, we also measure your mean arterial pressure (M.A.P.), heart rate and cardiac workload and oxygen consumption (RPP). Compressive strength measurement provides valuable information, especially about muscle strength in the arms and upper body, but it also reflects your overall muscle tone and functional capacity.
*Comprehensive blood pressure and compression force measurement is only included in the premium membership, other measurement packages are available as an additional service.
